What is Your Learning Style?

Whenever learning something new, it's helpful to reflect on how you learn best to make sure you're making an efficient use of your time. When it comes to preparing for interviews, here are some tips for each learning style whether you're a job seeker or hiring manager:

1. Visual - Watch - Take visual shorthand notes to bring to your interview, so you can glance down and remember what you wanted to say rather than try to remember or read in the moment. When practicing interviewing skills, shadow interviews your peers are conducting.
2. Auditory - Record & Listen - Work with a coach and record their guidance so you can refer back as needed. Write down answers to potential questions you feel good about, record yourself reading them and then listen before your next interview.
3. Verbal (Reading/Writing) - Workbooks/Journaling - Work through prompts to prepare responses to questions, or reflect on previous interview experiences.
4. Physical - Mock Interviews - Get as close as you can to recreating the interview environment. If you're in a profession that includes testing during the interview process, physically stand up and whiteboard it as you would in the interivew, or do practice code tests on your own.

If you're not sure how to find any of the helpful resources listed above, DM! There are actually a few more learning styles, but these are the 4 you hear the most often. Which one do you most identify with?
