Friendly Friday Reminder
Friendly Friday reminder to not get too "in your head" while you're in the middle of your job seeking journey. If you've been looking for a while, it's easy to compare yourself to others or start to lose confidence if you aren't getting as many calls back as you expected. It's been a tough time for candidates and hiring managers alike and it can take a while to find the right fit. Don't be too hard on yourself and give yourself some grace.
⠀
* Your resume may be perfect for you and what you're looking for, but the companies for the roles you've been applying for may just not be receptive for their own reasons. Keep going, you'll find one that is.
⠀
* While I'm obviously a big proponent of being prepared for interviews, please don't feel like you need to know every question in advance to be able to represent yourself well. Be strategic about your preparation rather than spending hours cramming the weekend before.
⠀
* It's normal for it to take months to find a new role, especially if you're looking for something specific or you have a high bar (as you should, if you have the ability to do so!). Fill the gap with meaningful activities- if you have time to volunteer or pursue your passions, you may end up with some great additions to your resume or examples for your next interview.
