Values Behind Behavioral Interview Questions

A question I'm often asked is "Why Behavioral Interview Questions?" This short list of values is a great place to start- it's hard to get real data on where a candidate stands with these unless you're asking about an experience they've had and dive deep into specifics. Beyond these 6, there are hundreds more that companies may prioritize. If you want to dig in, do a quick google search for a list of values- it can also be helpful to have the list on hand for other career exercises (more on this coming soon).

Hiring managers, before going into an interview you should always know what values you're looking for in an employee and ask targeted behavioral questions. Not sure how? I can help you prepare for your next round of hiring with Tailored Questions or Mock Interviews!

Job Seekers, can you think of situational examples with enough detail to demonstrate where you stand with these values? If you think you one of these may be important for your next role and you need support, Tailored Questions or a 15 minute consultation may be a great place to start!

Is all of this feeling new to you? Reach out for more support!
