Dealbreaker Interview Questions

These days I think the answer of this question is so important to me that I need to ask everyone I meet. 😂 Interview questions are all about identifying if candidates and hiring managers/companies align on the most important values. Whether you're a job seeker or hiring manager, in every interview try to include a question that will reveal if there are any potential dealbreakers at play.

This series includes MY dealbreaker questions (yours may be different!), and this is when I want to see how candidates solve seemingly impossible problems. As I've mentioned here before, I strongly believe there's a solution to every problem, so I'm looking a response that shows a candidate's willingness to perservere in truly challenging circumstances. If they give up, complain about it, or shove the problem onto someone else? Dealbreaker for working with me!

What do you do if someone's response is a dealbreaker? Don't judge in the moment or give any indication they may be giving you the "wrong" answer. Be curious, ask for more details to make sure you fully understand their response.
