Impostor/Imposter syndrome has been on my mind since I first heard the term a few years ago, but especially recently. There is a lot of debate over what it actually is, but for me it's letting my inner committee of critics tell me all about how I should stay small and that I don't know what I'm talking about. As this "chart" shows, it even got to me when making sure I was spelling it right- even knowing both spellings are accurate, I was in analysis paralysis mode for far too long. 🤦‍♀️

Overcoming your Impostor/Imposter syndrome means playing the long game, but here are some quick actions for when I need to snap out of it and take action:

🚴Complete a Tough Workout - Jumping on the bike or doing another difficult workout (even for 20 minutes) helps me feel strong and reminds me of what I can accomplish.
👫Consider if Support Would be Helpful - Sometimes asking my family or friends what they think is helpful, if it gives me a nudge in the right direction. Even though well intended, sometimes it can reinforce the impostor/imposter syndrome, so it's important to thoughtfully consider whether you want to invite someone else in.
👍Jump in - At some point, I always realize that I need to just do something or I will drive myself crazy. Every time, it's not as scary as I've made it out to be and even if I mess up, I've learned something in the process. This sounds a lot easier than it actually is, but you can do it!
